The Centre has re-opened its doors to serve freshly cooked hot lunches seven days a week. The opening weekend was a huge success with fish and chips served on Friday, brunch on Saturday and a roast on Sunday. Head Chef Sophie and the kitchen team have designed a delicious new menu featuring local produce and fresh veg. The aim is to offer older people the opportunity to venture out to eat and socialise with confidence that social distancing will be observed.

Fair Close has joined the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme which means that customers will get a 50% discount on lunches served on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-31 August.

After three months of an incredible effort by staff and volunteers to meet the increased demand for its meals on wheels lunch service during the lockdown, people can once again come  to the Centre in Newtown Road to eat out in a safe, spacious and COVID-secure setting either alone or with friends or their families – children are welcome too! A huge emphasis has been placed on implementing and upholding the highest standards for social distancing, customer safety, staff training, limited numbers and only pre-booked guests.

Lunches will be served seven days a week from 12 noon – 2pm Monday to Thursday and 12 noon – 3pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All tables will need to be booked in advance with numbers limited to 20 diners at a time and two sittings at the weekend. To book, please call 07784 819313 or email bookings@fairclosecentre.org.
