Jubilee canal trip

September 3, 2025

The Camellia Club & Rosemary Cafe enjoyed a two- and half-hour trip on the Jubilee canal boat on 20th August.  Family and friends, 24 in total, joined us for a journey down the Kennet & Avon canal with lunch kindly provided by Sally at the Fair Close Centre.  A wonderful time was had by all and Gerda and Sally, the Jubilee volunteers, kept us entertained – thanks ladies.

The trip was sponsored by the generosity of the Newbury Lions and organised by Fay Freemantle, the Lead Facilitator at the Camellia Club.  Fay said “We were really grateful for the generosity of Newbury Lions. Carers and their loved ones were able to enjoy a wonderful trip. Whilst the weather was a little chilly, the warmth of the volunteers from the Jubilee, kept us engaged. We really appreciated their help with the trip and for Newbury Lions supporting the trip.”
