Ruth’s Challenge

February 5, 2024

Goal setting is important at every stage of life because it gives us a sense of purpose and something to do. Traditionally, setting goals is not emphasized as much for seniors as it is for younger people, but it should be. Everyone can help older loved ones live happier, healthier lives by facilitating goal setting.

We have launched a challenge for over 65s to set a personal goal to achieve something during 2024. All anyone will need to do is register the challenge with us.  Alternatively support a loved one or the collective endeavour by donating to the project.

Ruth’s challenge is inspired by Ruth Saunders MBE the celebrated local charity marathon walker who successfully raised £60,000 for Thames Valley Air Ambulance during the pandemic age 104. Ruth, now 107, attends the Fair Close in-house hairdresser once a week and has known the Centre for many years.

Everyone who takes part will be invited to a celebratory Tea Party at Fair Close.
