Fun, food and friendship for older people in West Berkshire and North Hampshire

We’re really excited to announce that from 12 April, our doors will re-open for hairdressing and footcare services at the Fair Close Centre. Call 01635 40488 to make your appointment!

We have plans to serve tea and coffee outdoors with table service and of course, we continue to deliver hot, nutritious and freshly cooked meals on wheels to older and vulnerable people in their homes across West Berkshire and North Hampshire seven days a week and to provide welfare services for our members. From 17 May, we are thrilled to announce that the Covid-safe community restaurant will be re-opening for lunch, activities will resume and the minibus will be up and running too, so please give us a ring and book in.

The Fair Close community restaurant will re-open on 17 May in line with government guidelines. Advance booking will be essential – call 07784 819313 to book.

Our lively programme of events and activities will resume at the Centre from 17 May subject to government guidance – we’re looking forward to seeing you!

The Fair Close minibus will be collecting people from their homes in the morning and takes them home in the afternoon from 17 May subject to government guidelines.

Why not have freshly cooked hot meals delivered to your home daily or a few times a week? Our Meals on Wheels service is available to older people across West Berkshire and North Hampshire seven days a week.

Get involved with us

The Fair Close Centre receives no public funding. We are dependent on our own efforts to fundraise. Please donate to help us enrich the lives of older people in West Berkshire and North Hampshire.

Become a volunteer

Are you looking to help your community? Why not join us as a volunteer? We are always looking for help and for drivers to deliver our meals on wheels.

We offer membership for regular users of the Centre which means savings on the cost of lunches.

Opened by the Queen Mother in November 1967, the Fair Close Centre is an important community facility for the town and also for many Sovereign residents and we support this exciting initiative.
